10 reasons Apple Passwords App is not a good choice for now.

Comparing it with other password managers

Apple released its new app for managing your passwords replacing the KeyChain with the “Passwords” app.
I have been using 1Password for the last 7 years to manage my passwords. I was just thinking about closing its subscription by switching to the Apple Passwords app.

moving from 1Password to Apple Passwords (export and import)

In 1Password, I have 4 vaults of passwords. I moved all my passwords to a single vault. Export all of them as CSV. Open the Passwords app, and import the CSV file. Done.

I tested the app for two days. Here are the reasons I found that I should not move to the Passwords app — yet.

1. platform independent and other platform support

Passwords app is so well designed, simple, and flawless — only inside the Apple ecosystem.

The first hiccup I faced is, it is not quite good in Chrome when compared to 1Password. It has very less options and features as a Chrome extension.

I don’t have a Windows PC with me. I assume the case is the same with Windows too. They are functionally good, yet limited and aesthetically bad. You won’t like using it, especially if you’re using other password managers.

2. lack of integrations
