Bad News for Indian writers who wish to join MPP.

Stripe is not coming soon to India

Exactly two months ago I got a message from Stripe India, that my India-based Stripe account was closed. Later I found that almost everyone’s account was closed in India — especially accounts that can have the power to transact in USD.

Then the news, Stripe goes invite-only in India.

Some other payment services in India may replace Stripe. But the bad news is, that Medium only supports Stripe.

Medium may not fulfill its promise to open its Partner Program in India by 2024.

Sadly this is — what it is.

I will let you know if it goes in a good direction. But right now, you should find another way to earn (like Affiliate or other kind of promotions) or focus on building your brand here at Medium and use it to monetize outside Medium.
