What I want to see in Evernote — in 2024
9 major features and a few tiny ones
Calendar
Ability to create an event in Evernote Calendar.
I am using Superhuman (for email). It has the ability to create events within the app, even while drafting an email.
If Evernote can do the same — like if it can create an event within the notes, that would be great. Syncing them with the connected calendar (Google or Microsoft) is also a good option.
I know Evernote is a note-taking app. It doesn’t have to deal with calendars. But it already has the calendar integration inside. I just wanted it to go deeper.
Personally, I would like to see week numbers in the calendar. That’s crucial to my workflow.
Daily notes
RoamResearch has a page called “Daily Notes” — that will provide an exclusive note for the day. This reduces the friction of capturing content immediately by eliminating the need to create a new page and decide a title for it and quickly deciding to put the note in a specific folder.
Evernote has a “Default” notebook option for this. But it would be nice to see something like Daily Notes inside Evernote.
Tip: If you put anything in scratch pad (on the Evernote Home page or from the Mac Menu bar) and later you choose to convert it to a note, then it will convert it into a note with a title where the date and time are included.
